This will be a magical place where children and their families can
visit and meet Santa and experience Christmas anytime of the year. It will be
Santa’s home away from the North Pole; the feeling of Christmas will surround
this small village.
The Village will be constructed to cater especially to terminally or
seriously ill children, who will be brought to Santa’s Village by Santa’s
North Pole fire truck or ambulance. Other
families will also be welcome to visit. While
at the Village, children and families will go on sleigh rides during snowy times
and train rides in other seasons. They will eat freshly baked Christmas breads and cookies and
see elves make Christmas toys.
Santa’s Village will also serve as a model organization for other
nonprofit organizations interested in helping children in crisis. Santa’s
Village will be a training facility for Santa's who will be visiting terminally
or seriously ill children, children in crisis, and/or who are interested in
creating a Santa’s Village in another region of the world.
Outside experts will be invited to teach trainees about working with
these special children.
Santa’s Children Christmas Village will also work to bring
communities together. By working
with area schools, the Village will recruit
students to work on various projects
within the Village. This might
include doing artwork,
construction, sales, web page design and
support, acting,
and administrative work. Santa’s Village will also work with its partner
charities and other community organizations to bring together
families and other
volunteers to work at the Village.
“This experience as an elf…..has been
a very emotional one. If you could only see
the expression on these little girls and boys faces
you would know exactly how we feel!
This alone makes everything we do totally
worth it.”
